Meridian Economic Excellence Breakfast

It will take the concerted efforts of all of us and true leadership to help bring us to a brighter future. Attend our first Economic Excellence Breakfast of 2010 and learn about the U.S. Chamber's "Campaign for Free Enterprise", learn how United Heritage Financial Group has sustained itself through decades by strength of leadership, see what our local economy looks like for this year and learn what actions you can take to help spur it on from the Chair of the BSU Economics Department, and most importantly, learn what qualities of leadership we can all use to be a part of the solution from former corporate executive and national consultant Bryan Yager.

Do you support the F-35 in Idaho?
Both Mtn. Home AFB & Gowen Field have been short-listed for the next generation of US Air Force fighters with 3,000 jobs in the mix. Learn more at public meetings connected with each location. To hear about the Gowen Field option, attend the meeting at Meridian Middle School Auditorium on February 10th from 6 to 9 pm. For MHAFB, attend at the BSU Student Union Building on February 18th from 6-8 pm. The Chamber office has the list of all of the meetings and locations over the next two weeks across S. Idaho. We want to provide you with a construction update for the Ten Mile Road, Franklin Road to Cherry Lane project for the week of Monday, January 25.
Ten Mile is back open to traffic and the large irrigation crossing is complete
Work is being done on the east side of the Ten Mile Bridge and on the south side of the Franklin Bridge
City pipe work is being placed on the south side of Franklin Road
Idaho Power is moving their facilities within the project area
Upcoming Impact -
A road closure on Ten Mile Road between Pine Avenue & Cherry Lane is anticipated for February 12-18. The closure will allow crews to install a large manhole in the middle of the road and install an irrigation crossing. Temporarily closing this section of the roadway will allow crews to complete these portions of the project more quickly and will create a safer environment for motorists and for crews themselves.
